Oh my goodness!!! This is me with a big fat smile on my face from ear to ear with the occasional squeaks and squeals of excitement and joy. I cannot believe this dream is happening. When I went and viewed a studio space out of curiosity I never imagined that in 2 weeks from that point I would be turning in a lease agreement to make it my very own studio!
I know I am practically shouting with all the !!! but I simply can’t help myself 🙂 Please do not get me wrong I have loved shooting in my home for the past 2 years because it gives me the freedom to work from home on photography when I am not working my full time job. But holy heck I will have space now and not be bursting at the seams with props and equipment for every shoot. Not to mention I am now getting TWO rooms in my house back to use for living space, wahoo now I need furniture for them 😉
Speaking of shopping and buying furniture I have already started the process of creating my client viewing area by ordering a beautiful dark gray love seat and 2 white leather chairs. Oh the vision I have will be wonderful. I meet with the landlords this week to start planning the renovations and getting a timeline going for the Grand Opening. There is horribly ugly berber carpet in it right now and that will be the 1st thing to be ripped up and a nice hardwood floor will take it’s place. I will have pictures along this journey of renovations to share the progress as this once Yacht Brokers office becomes my contemporary/luxurious photography studio.
Oooh I didn’t mention the amazing amount of natural light there is… Pinch me I must be dreaming to have such wonderful windows in my new space. I adore natural light and look forward to doing more and more in this space. Of course it is the Pacific Northwest so there will always be days with external lighting but oh those summer days are going to be amazing.
I honestly feel in my heart that 2014 is going to be an amazing year for my photography business and I am beyond excited to share it with you.
